Almería Airport (LEI) is a single terminal airport located 9 km/5.6 mi east of Almería in south-east Spain. The Almería area offers beautiful beaches, history and a charming atmosphere.

On this page we have listed some of the amenities and services that are available at the airport, to give you an idea of what to expect upon your arrival.

Barrier Free Assistance Service at Almería Airport

The Barrier Free Assistance Service is a service for passengers who have limited mobility due to old age, sensorial (mental) or physical disability (permanent or temporary), or other disability that require special attention. This is not a custody and care service, so minors must be accompanied.

Assistance must be requested at least 48 hours prior either at the time of booking the ticket (through the airline or a travel agency) or through Aena's website or smartphone application, or by calling Aena on this number: (0034) 91 321 10 00.

WiFi at Almería Airport

Smoking at Almería Airport

Smoking inside the airport is prohibited. Arriving passengers may smoke outside the terminal building once on landside.

ATMs at Almería Airport

A Euronet ATM/cash machine is located right outside the baggage claim area, after customs, on the right hand side of the Arrivals hall. Additional charges may apply.

Currency Exchange Services at Almería Airport

The airport does not offer a currency exchange service.

Lost Property at Almería Airport

The Lost Property desk is located in the public area of the terminal, in the right hand side corner after exiting the baggage claim area.

Breastfeeding Room at Almería Airport

A separate room where mothers can breastfeed their children is located in the public area on the ground floor. Take left after having exited the baggage claim area, and it will be on the right hand side next to entrance/exit.

Airport Information at Almería Airport

An Airport Information desk can be found in the left hand side corner of the airport terminal once in the public area.

Tourist Information at Almería Airport

The airport has a Tourist Information desk located in the right hand corner of the public area, opposite customs.

Heart Rescue Area at Almería Airport

A defibrillator can be found in the public area, right outside the baggage claim area.

Drinking Fountains at Almería Airport

Two drinking fountains can be found at the airport, one is located in the baggage claim area, right before customs, and the other is located in the public area around the left corner of the baggage claim area.

Public Phone at Almería Airport

A public telephone is located in the public area of the terminal. Take left after exiting the baggage claim area and walk almost all the way to the terminal's left hand corner and it is right there on the right hand side next to an exit/entrance.

Food and Drinks at Almería Airport

Coffee Daily is a café serving a good cup of coffee, juices and soft drinks, as well as sandwiches, freshly baked pastries, salads and fruits. It is located in the public area, to the left after customs.

Lost Luggage at Almería Airport

Lost luggage is handled by the airlines. Some are located at a desk in the baggage claim area, and others at a desk in the public area of the passenger terminal, opposite the departures area to the left after exiting the baggage claim area.

Travel Agencies and Tour Operators at Almería Airport

Information desks for tour operators and travel agencies can be found in the public Departures area of the passenger terminal.

Transfers Almería Airport

Pick-up - Travelers can be pick-up outside the airport terminal, ideally in the parking lot in front of it as parking in front of the terminal is not allowed.

Rental Cars - The rental car companies that are available at the airport have their desks located in either the baggage claim area or right outside it in the public area. The rental car parking lot is located as a section of the General Parking Lot opposite the terminal. See and compare all rental car companies at Almería Airport.

Buses - Surbus has a stop at the airport, it is located outside the Arrivals hall and to the left. Line 30 runs between Almería to the west of the airport and Retmara to the east of the airport and it stops at the airport going both directions. The buses run every day of the year from morning until late evening and it departs approximately every 35th minute (both ways). The trip to Almería takes around 35 minutes, depending on the chosen stop, and it takes roughly 25 minutes to Retmara. Tickets are purchased directly from the bus driver and they cost 1.05€ for a single journey with hand luggage included. Larger luggage might not be accepted on the bus.

Long distance coaches can be found at Estación Intermodal Almeria, in Almería city. Line 30 stops there.

Taxis - The taxi rank is located right outside the Arrivals hall. Exit the passenger terminal through the exit doors opposite the baggage claim area. Taxi fares are regulated with two fares, depending on what day and time it is, and some supplemental charges such as the number of large luggage. The average fare to Almería is around 25€ and the journey time is around 15-20 minutes depending on the exact location of the destination and the traffic at the time of the transfer.

Trains - There is no train station at the airport. The closest train station is Estación Intermodal Almería in the city. It is possible to transfer there via the Line 30 bus (see above) that has a route stop there, or via taxi. The train station has direct train connections with several destinations including Malaga, Barcelona and Madrid, but it is also possible to travel to many other locations around Spain and Europe, directly or via transfer.
